Most UK news coverage of any given story looks different depending on which outlet you happen to read — not because one side is lying and the other is telling the truth, but because framing, emphasis, and what gets left out all shift with an outlet's own editorial position. Reading only one source means only ever seeing one version of that shift.

NewsDeck groups coverage of the same story from across the UK's political spectrum — left, centre, and right — so you can see the differences directly instead of guessing at them. Alongside that, it tracks the things that are harder to follow story-by-story but matter over the long run: manifesto promises against what's actually delivered, donations to political parties, MPs' expenses, and the financial state of local councils.

We're upfront that our own bias ratings are a working editorial judgement, not an independently audited score — the full reasoning is on the Methodology page, including where the approach is a simplification of something genuinely more complicated.
