A Historic British landmark which stood for generations is set to disappear forever.
Whitby's landmark Whale Bone Arch was installed in 2002 after being given by its twin town of Barrow, Alaska.
But after years of exposure to weather the bone deteriorated and had to be removed at 8.30am.
A bronze replica of the structure will be installed to replace the town's landmark, taken away from its iconic spot on Monday.
