Opting for the stairs rather than the lift could reduce the likelihood of dying from cardiovascular causes by 39 per cent, according to research published today in the American Journal of Cardiovascular Drugs. The study, conducted by scientists at the University of East Anglia and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, also found that habitual stair climbers faced a 24 per cent lower risk of death from all causes.
