Lord Hannan fumes as Labour’s tax burden punishes Britons while levels soar to WW2 levels
Former Conservative MEP and crossbench peer Lord Hannan has hit out at Britain's record tax burden, arguing the Government should be cutting taxes rather than increasing them.
Lord Hannan, Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs, said taxes are now at their highest level since 1947.
“Just imagine that in 1947, there was a weekly ration of one egg, one fresh egg per family per week,” he told GB News.
