WATCH: Humanoid robots compete in weightlifting debut at World Robot Games
Humanoid robots have competed in a weightlifting event for the first time at the World Humanoid Robot Games at Beijing's National Speed Skating Oval. Four robots entered the heavyweight competition, each starting with a 15kg barbell. During one lift, a humanoid robot lost its balance and toppled toward the judges' table. Officials immediately halted the competition and declared the attempt over. Other events included cheerleading and bottle-opening competitions. The games, now in their second year, feature 51 events, including 30 sports competitions and 21 scenario-based contests, and run until August 26. WATCH ABOVE.
