Update given on train derailment horror as officials admit known 'defect'
Officials have delivered an update on last week's train derailment horror as authorities have admitted there was a known "defect" in the area.
Network Rail confirmed a Southern Rail service diverted off the tracks in Lewes just before 4pm last Thursday on what was the hottest day of the year so far.
Around 30 passengers were injured in the fallout.
